Insurance and coverage FAQ
Dental Insurance & Payment Options
Making dental and orthodontic care easier to understand
Insurance can be confusing. At Avocabo Dental & Orthodontics, our team helps families understand their benefits, estimate expected costs, and explore payment options before treatment begins.
We work with a range of PPO dental insurance plans and offer care options for families with and without dental insurance.
Insurance and coverage questions
Have Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Humana, Delta Dental, or another PPO dental plan? Avocabo works with several major dental networks, and participation can vary by carrier, provider, and the specific plan shown on your insurance card.
Call (702) 623-8832 with your insurance information and our team can help review your coverage before your visit.
When a dental office is in network with your insurance plan, the office has an agreement with that insurance network regarding covered services and negotiated fees. Being in network does not necessarily mean every service will be fully covered. Your out-of-pocket cost may depend on your deductible, annual maximum, copays or coinsurance, frequency limitations, waiting periods, age restrictions, and your plan's specific exclusions.
If Avocabo is out of network with your plan, you may still be able to receive care. Some PPO plans include out-of-network benefits, and when permitted by your plan we can attempt to submit claims on your behalf. Your insurance carrier determines final reimbursement and patient responsibility.
Our team can review the benefit information available from your carrier and help you understand your estimated responsibility before treatment.
Before treatment, our team can use the benefit information available from your insurance company to estimate what your plan may contribute and what you may be responsible for. Insurance estimates are based on the benefit information available at the time of review. Your insurance carrier makes the final claim determination, so an estimate is not a guarantee of payment.
Yes. Families without dental insurance are welcome at Avocabo Dental & Orthodontics. We do not publish a single self-pay price because the services a child needs can vary. Call (702) 623-8832 and our team can explain current self-pay fees and available options.
Some dental insurance plans include orthodontic benefits, while others do not, and coverage is often separate from routine dental benefits. Orthodontic benefits may include a lifetime maximum, age limits, waiting periods, eligibility requirements, and a payment schedule over the course of treatment.
Before orthodontic treatment begins, our team can review the benefit information available from your insurance carrier and provide an estimate of your expected insurance contribution and remaining responsibility. Insurance may cover only part of treatment, so Avocabo also offers affordable in-house monthly payment options, including 0% interest options.
Avocabo Dental & Orthodontics accepts eligible Nevada Medicaid and Nevada Check Up patients for covered pediatric dental services and qualifying orthodontic care for patients under age 21.
Coverage depends on eligibility, the patient's plan, and the specific treatment being provided. Some services, especially orthodontic treatment, may require prior authorization before treatment can begin.

Yes. Avocabo offers in-house orthodontic payment plans with affordable monthly payments, including 0% interest options. Down payments vary based on the treatment plan, estimated insurance benefits, and the payment arrangement selected.
Cherry financing may also be available for eligible patients in special circumstances. Our team can explain whether an in-house plan or Cherry financing is more appropriate for your treatment needs.
Dental insurance is not required to receive care at Avocabo. For families without traditional dental coverage, the Avocabo Membership Plan is $48 per month and includes:
- Two cleanings per year
- Complimentary diagnostic procedures included under the membership plan
- Discounted eligible pediatric dental treatment
- 15% member savings on orthodontic treatment
The Avocabo Membership Plan is not dental insurance. Benefits, exclusions, discounts, and eligibility are determined by the official membership agreement.

Call us before your visit if you're a new patient, your insurance recently changed, you're unsure whether we're in network, your child has Nevada Medicaid or Check Up, or you have questions about orthodontic benefits, self-pay fees, or financing.
