Pediatric dental care in Las Vegas
A pediatric tooth extraction removes a tooth when keeping it is no longer the most appropriate option for the child's health or development. Dr. Bo Kwok confirms the need through an in-person evaluation at Avocabo Dental & Orthodontics.

An extraction is the controlled removal of a baby or permanent tooth. It may be considered for a tooth that cannot be restored, has infection, is damaged, blocks eruption, or must be removed as part of a coordinated orthodontic plan.
Children with severe decay, swelling or infection, traumatic tooth damage, abnormal eruption, or selected crowding concerns may need evaluation for removal. Extraction is not recommended solely from an online description or photograph.
An in-person evaluation is required before Dr. Bo Kwok can recommend care for an individual patient.
Step 1
We examine the tooth, review health history, and use imaging when needed to understand roots and nearby structures.
Step 2
The area is numbed and the tooth is carefully loosened and removed using an approach suited to the case.
Step 3
The family receives instructions about bleeding control, eating, cleaning, activity, and follow-up.
When possible, alternatives may include a filling, crown, pulp treatment, monitoring, or coordinated orthodontic care. The tooth's restorability and the child's overall health determine which choices remain appropriate.
Local anesthetic is used when appropriate, but children may notice pressure during treatment and soreness afterward. Follow instructions for gauze, food, activity, cleaning, and any recommended medication; do not let the child chew the numb lip or cheek.
Call for bleeding that does not slow with instructed pressure, increasing swelling, fever, worsening pain, trouble breathing or swallowing, or any healing concern. Seek urgent help for severe symptoms.
