What Does Custom Nightguards Involve?
A nightguard is made from an impression or digital scan and fits over selected teeth to create a protective biting surface. It manages tooth contact but does not diagnose or cure every cause of grinding, headaches, jaw discomfort, or sleep concerns.
Who May Benefit?
Selected pediatric patients and orthodontic patients of any age with clinical signs of wear or symptoms associated with clenching or grinding may benefit when a nightguard is appropriate within their pediatric or orthodontic care.

Comfort, Recovery, and Aftercare
An adjustment period is common. Clean the guard as directed, store it dry in its case, avoid heat, and bring it to follow-up visits; stop wearing it and contact us if it causes pain or changes the bite.
When Should You Contact Our Office?
Contact the office for worsening jaw pain, headaches, tooth sensitivity, a damaged or poorly fitting guard, or a bite that feels changed. Breathing pauses, gasping, or significant sleep concerns require medical evaluation.
