Orthodontic care in Las Vegas
Traditional braces use fixed brackets and wires to gradually move teeth and address crowding, spacing, and bite concerns. At Avocabo Dental & Orthodontics, treatment is planned and provided under the care of Dr. Camy Kwok after an in-person evaluation.

Traditional braces are fixed orthodontic appliances made up of brackets attached to the teeth and an archwire that connects them. The wire applies controlled forces, and adjustments help guide teeth toward their planned positions over time.
Braces may be considered for children, teens, and adults with crooked or crowded teeth, gaps, or bite concerns. Their fixed design can help with movements that require close control, but suitability depends on the teeth, bite, jaws, growth when relevant, and overall dental health.
An in-person evaluation is required before Dr. Camy Kwok can recommend care for an individual patient.
Step 1
The consultation includes an assessment of the teeth, bite, jaws, goals, and dental health. Imaging or digital records may be recommended.
Step 2
Brackets and wires are placed, then adjusted or replaced at follow-up visits to guide planned movement.
Step 3
After active treatment, a retainer is typically used to help maintain the new tooth positions.
Clear aligners or other orthodontic appliances may be considered depending on the concern, age, growth, goals, and ability to follow wear instructions. Ceramic braces and sapphire brackets are also available as more discreet bracket options. No single approach is right for everyone.
Temporary pressure or soreness can occur after braces are placed or adjusted. Softer foods and orthodontic wax may help when recommended. Brush carefully around brackets and wires, clean between the teeth, attend routine dental visits, and follow food and appliance-care instructions.
Contact us if a bracket becomes loose, a wire is poking, an appliance breaks, or discomfort is severe or does not improve. Promptly seek guidance for facial swelling, significant injury, trouble breathing, or other urgent symptoms.
